Eligible students have the option of accessing VET Fee Help assistance to defer the cost of the course.

What is VET Fee Help?

Vocational Education and Training (VET) Fee Help is an income contingent loan scheme for the VET sector that is part of the Higher Education Loan Program (HELP).

VET Fee Help allows you pay back your course fees slowly through the tax system, either through a before tax deduction from your pay or from your tax return.

You only need to start paying your loan back once you earn over a certain amount.  Currently that amount is $49,095 and it is increased regularly to match inflation.

ITCC offers VET Fee Help assistance to new and ongoing domestic students.

Am I eligible for VET Fee Help?

You are eligible for VET Fee Help if you are an Australian citizen or holder of a permanent humanitarian visa who will be a resident in Australia for the duration of the unit of study in which you are seeking VET Fee Help assistance.

New Zealand citizens and other permanent visa holders are not eligible for VET Fee Help and must pay their tuition fees upfront.

ITCC offer VET Fee Help for the following courses:

Diploma of Business

Diploma of Management

Diploma of Marketing

Diploma of Project Management

Diploma of Human Resources

Advanced Diploma of Management (HR)

What is the VET Fee Help borrowing limit?

You can borrow up to the amount of the tuition fees charged for your course. However, over your lifetime, you will only be able to borrow up to a maximum amount. The latest VET Fee Help limit is available from http://studyassist.gov.au/sites/StudyAssist

How will VET Fee Help assist me in paying the tuition fees?

If you decide not to pay the full tuition fee up-front and you are eligible for VET Fee Help assistance, you may:

Pay some of the tuition fee upfront to the School and request a VET Fee Help loan for the remainder of the tuition fee; or Request a VET Fee Help loan for the full tuition fee.

Your VET Fee Help debt is repaid via the Australian Tax Office once your income reaches the minimum threshold for compulsory repayment. The latest threshold level is available from http://studyassist.gov.au/sites/StudyAssist

How do I apply for VET Fee Help?

Applications are made at time of enrolment into an eligible course. Your course advisor can help you complete the necessary paperwork.
