Introduction to Business Coaching

This course will enhance your knowledge of coaching within business environments and provide you with the mindset, skills and confidence needed to work effectively with others on defining business goals and achieving positive organisational outcomes.

The Introduction to Business Coaching has been designed for business professionals interested in supporting peak performance within a wide range of contexts.

It is a highly practical course that will introduce you to a range of useful, evidence-based coaching frameworks and tools. Topics covered include the coaching process, core micro skills (e.g. reflective listening, questioning), goal clarification and goal setting, enhancing motivation, using Positive Psychology for coaching, applications of coaching such as managing change, handling resistance to change and using feedback to create coaching opportunities.

Outcomes           

On successful completion of this course, you will be able to:

• Differentiate between business coaching from consulting, counselling, mentoring and other types of coaching (e.g. executive, life).

• Identify different stages in the coaching process and know what skills are required in those stages.

• Identify coaching opportunities and know how to make the most of them.

• Identify personal attributes that will help you to coach effectively

• Approach coaching more confidently (as a result for having engaged in an active, reflective learning process).
